Judit Sonkoly

Research fellow

Judit is a research fellow at the University of Debrecen and at the MTA-DE Lendület Functional and Restoration Ecology Research Group. She defended her Ph.D. thesis titled “The role of reproductive traits in the life cycle of plants and in the maintenance of biodiversity” in 2016. She has been working on various topics related to vegetation science and plant ecology, from seed production, dispersal and seed banks to diversity–productivity relationships and vegetation dynamics.

Curriculum Vitae (pdf)

Research topics

  • The effect of litter cover and soil burial depth on the germination and establishment of invasive plants
  • The role of horticultural trade in the unintentional dispersal of seeds
  • The role of different plant traits in determining dispersal ability and range size
